The Medical University of South Carolina, Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, is recruiting a Full-Time/ Assistant Professor Pathologist. This individual will work with the Medical Director of Laboratory Informatics to create and maintain a level of systems integration necessary to support safe and effective patient care as it relates to the professional practice of Pathology. Candidates should be Board Certified and/or Board eligible in Clinical Pathology and/or Anatomic Pathology. Professional training and experience in laboratory and/or systems management will also be considered. The individual should have completed an informatics fellowship or have documented experience in managing some or all aspects of Pathology informatics. To excel in this role, the individual should have working knowledge of the application of information technology, data analytics and other aspects of information system use and management required for the practice of Pathology. The applicant must also obtain an unrestricted South Carolina medical license by start date. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required. Participation in clinically-oriented research and the Department’s teaching programs for medical students, residents and fellows is expected. This is a tenure track position with academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications, expertise and accomplishments.
