Joint meeting of API, CAP and the American College

The Association for Pathology Informatics (API), is pleased to announce that we will hold a half-day joint API / American College of Radiology (ACR) / College of American Pathologists (CAP) session prior to the Pathology Informatics Summit in May to discuss ways the three organizations can work together on topics of mutual interest. The goals of the meeting will include a level setting summary of activities of all the organizations, especially in terms of AI and structured reporting.  The meeting will be held on Sunday, May 5 from 1 pm to 4 pm in Pittsburgh at the Wyndham Grand Pittsburgh Downtown - the PI Summit venue.  The meeting is open to all registrants of the PI Summit and will be included in the registration fee.  You can view the full schedule for the PI Summit HERE and you can register for the meeting HERE.
We hope anyone planning on attending the PI Summit will consider participating in this opportunity.  Mike Tilkin, CIO of the ACR’s Data Science Institute, will present on the work that ACR has done in data management as well as their AI work with the FDA.  (The Informatics Committee’s Machine Learning Work Group recently had a conference call with the FDA. The FDA is keen on us working with the CAP and using the templates that the ACR and FDA have developed for pathology use cases).
We expect that this will be the start on an on-going relationship between the three organizations and are very excited to be able to offer this session to all those interested.   If you plan to attend, please RSVP to Nova Smith ( ASAP.  If you have any questions or comments, please do not hesitate to contact Dr. Monica de Baca, API President at or Mary Kennedy of the CAP at
