Submit a Topic Proposal

Dear API Members,

The Pathology Informatics Summit Planning Committee invites API members to submit a topic proposal for the Pathology Informatics Summit 2022.  The PI Summit 2022 will take place on May 9-12, 2022 in Pittsburgh, PA at the David L. Lawrence Convention Center and Westin Pittsburgh.  Topic proposals will be accepted starting on Wednesday, September 15, 2021, and the final day to submit a topic proposal will be Sunday, October 31, 2021.  Please note that this deadline will not be extended.  Those selected will be notified the week of December 6, 2021.

Proposals should designed be for:

  • 35-40 minutes sessions presenting original work or informatics education
  • Typically done as PowerPoint lectures
  • Other formats and/or educational modalities are acceptable and encouraged
  • The learning approach should be described in the proposal
  • Topics will only be accepted for those with paid, current API memberships
A list of topics of interest to the conference planning committee and the API membership at large is below. This is provided to stimulate your ideas, and is not meant to be exclusive. Additional information and updates will provided on the API website proposal submission page as needed.  If you have a questions or experience problems accessing the proposal submission system, please contact Beth Gibson at bethgibs@med.umich.edu for assistance.

We are also inviting interested API members to participate on the topic proposal submission review committee.  The time commitment will be from October 21, 2021 to December 3, 2021, and will consist of email correspondence with the planning committee and weekly meetings on Thursdays at 2 PM (10/21, 10/28, 11/11, 11/18, and 12/3).  To be considered for the review committee, please email a brief statement about your areas of expertise and interest along with a copy of your CV to Nova Smith at nova.smith@pathologyinformatics.org.
