Job Name: Medical Director and Head of Population Informatics, Labcorp Health Systems Overview: Healthcare delivery is experiencing unprecedented changes led by mass consolidation, accelerated use of data and technology, as well as a shift into value-based care. Labcorp’s Health System team is responsible for some of the company’s largest customers and is deeply engaged in use of lab data, population health informatics, and value-based care models. With an integrated national network and clinical data on more than 50% of covered patients, Labcorp is uniquely positioned to develop analytics capabilities that support organizations with quality requirements and financial performance. Labcorp has developed a suite of population informatics tools including data feeds, Insight Analytics, as well as customized solutions for Lab Stewardship and Health Equity. These population analytics tools play an important role in Labcorp’s service offering, ensuring differentiation and long-term customer retention.
Responsibilities Summary
- Lead Labcorp’s Population Health Informatics overall team and data offerings.
- Provide medical and strategic leadership for the data team managing Insight Analytics offerings
- Serve as Medical Director for the Health System Division, providing oversight and guidance for product development and external communications.
- Participate in high level customer engagements to support use of analytics tools and clinical insights.
- Prioritize the development of new population analytics tools that leverage LabCorp data in support of business cases, value-based care requirements, and the overall value proposition to health systems.
- Work with internal Health System team, Divisional Sales, Marketing, IT, and company leadership to launch analytics product offerings.
- Collaborate with large customers and senior clinical & administrative leaders to conduct research projects and publish white papers on uses of laboratory data that generate value.
- Serve as advisor on other clinical and business committees as deemed necessary.
- Support continued development and oversight of lab stewardship analytics and solutions.
- Support continued development and oversight of Health Equity analytics and public health partnerships.
Experience Requirements
- MD required, preferably with board certification in Anatomic and Clinical Pathology.
- Tangible experience in leading pathology informatics projects in a health system or large provider group.
- Practical experience leading population health projects preferred.
- Formal training in Pathology Informatics preferred, but not required.
- Direct experience driving projects to completion in a multi-stakeholder clinical environment.
- Highly collaborative, team player with excellent communication skills and ability to build customer relationships.
- General understanding of Value-based Care including common quality measures and requirements.
- General understanding of macro trends affecting laboratory medicine & healthcare providers.
